According to the example, the change of the encoding method provided by the invention to video data encoding (an encoded frame) and stream generation is described, thereby reducing a bit rate of the video encoding stream to be accessed, and decoding consumption.
The main idea of the invention is to obtain an encoding stream having an I frame, a common P frame and a refreshment P frame by an encoded frame and the change of reference relation of the encoded frame in video data encoding, so as to further tag the stream and/or the encoded frame and reduce a bit rate; and to create an index for the encoding stream in advance for storage so as to directly locate a target frame by quickly creating the index.
Also, while the embodiment of this diagram shows bi-directional communication being capable between the communication devices 110 and 120, it is of course noted that, in some embodiments, the communication device 110 may include only video data encoding capability, and the communication device 120 may include only video data decoding capability, or vice versa (e.g., in a uni-directional communication embodiment such as in accordance with a video broadcast embodiment).
Generally speaking, when considering a communication system in which video data is communicated from one location, or subsystem, to another, video data encoding may generally be viewed as being performed at a transmitting end of the communication channel 199, and video data decoding may generally be viewed as being performed at a receiving end of the communication channel 199.
However, for the reference relation, the refreshment P frame refers to the closest I frame located before the refreshment P frame, and the common P frame refers to the former encoded frame adjacent to the common P frame, and/or the closest I frame located before the common P frame in the video data encoding stream obtained by a video data encoding algorithm in the embodiment.
FIG. 2 is a functional block diagram illustrating encoding and communication of a video stream by a wireless access device in accordance with an embodiment of the present invention. An encoder rate adaptation function or layer 200 is shown that, in combination with or as part of an encoder 204, is used by wireless access device 106 to provide an encoded video stream 202 to a video device 110/mobile video device 112 over a wireless channel 226. Generally speaking, when considering a communication system in which video data is communicated wirelessly from one location, or subsystem, to another, video data encoding may be viewed as being performed at a transmitting side of the wireless channel 226, and video data decoding may generally be viewed as being performed at a receiving side of the wireless channel 226.
