This invention addresses the problem of providing a spark plug which is equipped with a ground electrode that has an outer layer formed of a Ni-based alloy and a core portion enclosed by this outer layer and formed of a material with higher thermal conductivity than this outer layer, and for which the electrode consumption is suppressed and the grain growth of the Ni-based alloy parent material is suppressed by maintaining the high thermal conductivity of the core portion while tightly adhering the core portion and the outer layer.
