Using vendor-provided Web server plug-ins, the Web server used by the EPM Workspace acts as a reverse proxy to route client requests. Requests may be handled in part by the Web server itself, such as requests for static images that exist on the same machine as the Web server, or routed to the appropriate Web application server instance for processing. Requests to stand-alone EPM System components that do not integrate with the EPM Workspace, such as Oracle's Hyperion Shared Services, can also be routed using the Web server proxy.
