The Commission must make every effort to complete its work on the draft Code, in order to provide the proposed international criminal court, on which work seemed to be proceeding well, with a reliable and comprehensive legal instrument for the suppression of exceptionally serious crimes.
٥٣ - وأضافت أن على اللجنة أن لا تألو جهد لإنجاز أعمالها بشأن مشروع المدونة، من أجل أن توفر للمحكمة الجنائية الدولية المقترحة، التي يبدو أن العمل يجري بشأنها على نحو جيد صكا قانونيا موثوقا وشاملا لقمع الجرائم التي هي على درجة فادحة من الجسامة.
The completion of the work on the draft Code of Crimes was particularly welcome, for the Code could now play a crucial role in the preparations for the establishment of a permanent international criminal court.
وأبدى ترحيبا خاصا بإنجاز الأعمال المتعلقة بمشروع مدونة الجرائم، وذلك لأنه يمكن للمدونة أن تضطلع الآن بدور حاسم في الأعمال التحضيرية لإنشاء محكمة جنائية دولية دائمة.
The Commission was urged to intensify its work on the draft Code so that the international criminal court would have at its disposal a legal framework containing definitions of the relevant crimes.
تكثيف عملها المتعلق بمشروع المدونة بحيث يكون تحت تصرف المحكمة الجنائية الدولية إطـار قانونـي يتضمـن تعاريف للجرائم ذات الصلة.

٨٣ ـ وأوضح أن ينبغي التنسيق بين الأعمال المتعلقة بإنشاء محكمة جنائية دولية والأعمال الجارية فيما يتعلـق بوضع مشروع مدونة الجرائم المخلة بسلم الإنسانية وأمنها لما بين الموضوعين من اتصال وثيق، ولا سيما في مجال تعريف الجرائم.
The view was also expressed that the definition of crimes against humanity should only be dealt with upon completion of the International Law Commission's work on the draft Code.
كما أعرب عن رأي يدعو الى عدم تناول تعريف الجرائم المرتكبة ضد الإنسانية، إلا بعد انتهاء لجنة القانون الدولي من أعمالها بشأن مشروع المدونة.
